Having an identity is narrowing and limiting. You or others may perceive your identity in a certain way and to some degree, their perceptions may be true, but your identity is fleeting. It will change fifty different ways throughout your life.
When you say the words “I Am,” you are attaching something to your current identity. But, if you stop and think about it, are you really what you say you are? For instance, I often catch myself saying, “I am an introvert.” Technically it is true that I have introverted tendencies, but I am not always an introvert. And, if I don’t want to remain an introvert, I can change my identity through thoughts and actions, even if my mind would fight the change. For the record, I enjoy my introverted tendencies.
My aim is to be limitless as much as possible. I want to live a life of adventure in which I place all of my trust in the universe. To live such a life, I can’t constrict myself made up identities.
