Today I wanted to talk about habits again since they are what separates you from your dreams. There is no doubt that when have better habits, your chance of success greatly increases. The formula is so simple, yet so difficult to put into practice without the right intention.
In James Clear’s book, Atomic Habits, he discusses making your daily habits easy to achieve by setting up your environment. This is wise advice. Let’s walk through some examples of how to make this happen.
- If you want to drink more water, keep your bottle right next to you all day.
- For bigger muscles, keep some weights in proximity to your work area so you can pick them up randomly. Also, lay out your gym clothes and keys, etc so that it is easy to get to the gym in the morning.
- To eat healthier, remove the junk food from your house and chop your veggies before you are scrambling for quick food.
The list can go on and on but you get the idea. Making things easier gives you an advantage since your mind always wants to fall back to least effort.
Here is a challenge for you: I want you to take a look at that goal you set on January 1 and ask yourself, “how can I make this easier to achieve?”
Implement those changes today.
