I am convinced that we only have brief moments or periods of calm in our lives. Things always seem to change and rearrange our best laid plans.
You may say to yourself, “It’s always something” or “if it’s not one thing, it’s another.” Unknowingly, I used those mantras for years and I got everything I expected from saying things like that. Fast forward a decade or so, I have come to realize that things are always fluid and acceptance of impermanence is the only way to cope with life.
2024 has been a lot to take in with hiccups in life plans, a diagnosis, and another death in the family. Those are things you think about from time to time, but, when they happen, it is always a surprise for some reason. I would say that I hope that our 2025 will be better than 2024, but hopes are sometimes a let down. My advice for 2025 is to expect the unexpected and deal with your reactions in a more mature and thoughtful way. No matter what happens this year, there will always be something to learn from your experiences. You can turn this wisdom into something beautiful if you make the effort.
