Even though fear is the emotion that causes so much grief in our lives, there are a few good things about it. One of the positives is to tell us when we are in actual danger and another is to tell us that we are pushing past our comfort zone.
Michael Singer writes all about this in his book, The Untethered Soul. He describes fear as the indicator that pushes you to the edge and that you should love the edges because they show you the path to freedom. If you can stop yourself when you react to fear and ask yourself some questions about why you are feeling this, you can get the root of the problem and if you can handle your fear properly, you can reframe or even transcend this situation to your benefit.
I hit one of my big fears a few days ago. My wife mentioned that I should create videos. That sent a shock through me in a big way. I am definitely not fearful of public speaking in-person. But, I am deeply fearful of being on video or audio. I don’t like hearing myself on a recording. I recognized this over a few days and have figured out a way to work through the fear. I am going to record videos for myself and play them back and keep practicing until I can build the confidence to share with the public in the future.
Do you have any fears holding you back? What steps can you take today to transcend these fears?

I would just DO IT AFRAID! I mean, think about it, you’re going to use the same energy if you face it or you succumb to it, so why not choose the positive choice, which would be to FACE YOUR FEAR/FEARS! Everytime you face one or more of your fears, it diminishes a little every time. So, eventually it will disappear all together.
The positive side of fear would be, in this case, is that you will become stronger as you consistently face your fear/fears. You mentioned there was not really any good side to fear but I just found you one! I ALWAYS look for the positive in a negative and I usually find one at least!
